What Causes Itchy Bite Marks All Over Body?

My husband has been getting a lot of itchy bites lately. We don t think it could be bed bugs because I don t get them. We do have twin mattresses in our king size bed. He just had an appointment with our dermatologist he said he didn t know what could be causing them. What could it be?

Hello,

I can understand your concern for itchy bite marks all over body. Though it is quite early to diagnose the exact entity just by description and it requires a personalized examination of the skin to rule out the possible causes. Even then it appears form your description that he has got mite infection known as Scabies which gives the similar picture.

In all such cases it is important to apply a scabicidal cream such as Permethrin 5 % for once at night time below neck area for twelve hours. Let all his clothes be ironed form inside and expose all the linens and other belongings to the direct sunlight. An antihistamine such as loratadine can be given for once and cetrizine at night time. You can discuss further with a dermatologist.
