What Causes Itchy Bite On Ankle?

Yesterday when I came home I noticed an itchy bite on my ankle and I assumed it was a mosquito bite that I had gotten from walking through the grass from my car or maybe earlier that day. But today I looked at it and it looks like four bites that form a square. It itches and stings more than normal but I don t have a fever and it s not oozing. Is this a spider bite?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

You are suffering from allergic reaction due to insect bite. Antihistamines and steroids are the drug of choice. Injectable forms are available for both drugs which can be used. In case of throat pain, difficulty in swallowing or breathing, immediately contact your physician since it could be a severe and fatal anaphylactic reaction.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
