Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Itchy Blister Behind The Ear And On Scalp?
My six year old has an itchy blister behind each ear. She also has one or two on her scalp near the top of her head. We ve been spending a lot of time in the community pool. She has no other symptoms. And she s already had chicken pox. They are raised and oozy.
As per my clinical experience, the itchy blister behind the ear and on the scalp indicates infection with gram positive bacteria as staph aureus or others most likely. The microbiology report of the blister discharge is needed for the microbe diagnosis and cure according to the culture sensitivity of the bug.
Primary guidelines above antibiotics are: - Cleansing of local area with antiseptic liquid or soap - Local application of miconazole (2%) cream - Cetrizine syrup for itching control
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
