General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query.Intrauterine device is kept inside uterus so it usually don't poke while sexual intercourse.Your problem is most likely a fungal infection. If you send a picture of it then i can comment on it more. For such conditions in my patients i treat with ointments with combination of antifungal like clotrimmazole antibacterial like neomycin and corticosteroid betamethasone. It is also better to avoid irritants like soap to wash the genital area.Instead you can use warm water or saline which decreases irritation.Hope this may help you.
Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
