Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have itching on my arms in spots that have little bumps similar to a pimple after a couple of days there is a scab that forms tht looks like like a small pencil line. we have rule out bed bug bites as we had them before and there are not the same. they form mostly from the top of my hand to my upper arm. it seems like one area is affected at a time and then a couple of days/weeks it starts in another location.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of itchy bumps on the arms which is a common skin condition in which hair follicles become inflamed leading to folliculitis. Major reason for its occurrence is friction and other reasons are heat , sweat and dermatitis.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to keep that area dry and wear loose clothes. You should apply a warm, moist washcloth or compress and apply soothing lotions. You should gently wash the infected skin twice a day with antibacterial soap. Take diet rich in fluids. Consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe antibacterial or antifungal medicine.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
