What Causes Itchy Bumps On The Face And Neck?

In the past fe days I started t9 have my face and neck area start to itch intensely and tiny hard to see bumps started to show up the more the itchiness grew. Some of the have fluid in them and others dont. When the itchiness first started I scratched my for head and face thinking that it was just an ordinary itch but as time has passed it has gotten worse and I dont know what it is. Once I realized that when I was itching my for head and neck area and it would get worse and the bumps would appear more, I stopped scratching y skin and started putting an anti itch cream on my face. Which it stings I think because of my previous scratching. Now it has been approximately a week since this has started and it hasn t gotten any better. And I dont know what it might be. I have looked at several pictures of skin rashes but I dont see anything that resembles it.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your complain eruption of recurring bumps all over the face, head and neck that are itchy can be due to common causes like:
-CONTACT DERMATITIS that is an allergic reaction which occurs when skin comes in contact with certain agents that your body is allergic to like skin cosmetics, detergents, soaps, fragrances, leather, latex, poison ivy etc..
-FOLLICULITIS or generalized hair follicle infection caused by Staphylococcus bacteria leading to formation of painful bumps over different parts of the body..
-Another cause can be food allergy or side effect of medicines..
Consult an Allergist or an Infectious Medicine Specialist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like blood tests to rule out allergies and infection, micorscopic examination of scrapings from lesion can help..
As of now you can take anti allergics like benadryl for relieving itching and do cool compresses over bumps..
Once the cause is ruled out it will be treated accordingly..

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Honey Arora
