Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Itchy Eyelids And Painful Spots On The Forehead?
I have itchy eyelids and tender/painful spots on my forehead above my eyes. I previously tested negative for seasonal allergies. I recently had cataract surgery on both eves. I also have painful osteoarthritis in my hip and hands. I ve already had 2 total knee replacements. Lately I have been sleeping 10 hours a night and can t resist an afternoon nap. This may be due to the fact that my dosage for Cymbalta was recently increased. I would ask to reduce the Cymbalta dosage that was increased to help with pain as it has not had any effect on my pain level. However, with hip surgery scheduled for Sept. I thought the sleepiness might help at that time. Anyway, my question is about my eyelid and forehead discomfort. Any ideas?
Painful spots on the forehead may be due to herpes virus infection. In this case, it is important that you see your doctor as the infection may affect the eye and the vision. The way the lesions look is very important to determine if this is a herpes infection or not.
