What Causes Itchy Eyes During Night?

Doctor

Since two weeks, daily night my eyes are itchy and it is too difficult to close my eyes. But in day time I don't have that much problem and I am suffering a lot because of this. Can you please tell me the reason why this happens and how I can get relief from this??

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello,

It could be due to some kind of allergy ( the exact allergen may not be known as it could be anything in the air, check out if there is anything new in the room which have brought recently and could be causing an allergy). You can try symptomatic treatment with Alaway/Zaditor eye drops, 1 drop twice a day along with Tablet Zyrtec, 10 mg , 1 tablet at bedtime. If you do not get symptomatic relief within a week of this treatment then do get your eyes examined by an ophthalmologist for a closer look and start of Pataday eye drops(prescription medicine).

Regards
