What Causes Itchy Legs, Arms, Back And Chest While On Eliquis And Lipitor?

Hello, For the last 5-6 months I have quite intense itching at different parts of my body-legs, arms, back, chest--almost everywhere--sometimes only in one area, other times in several areas. My skin is sun damaged. I am taking 5mg of Eliquis 2x/day for a year. I also take 6mg of Carvedilol 2x/day for more than a year. AND Lipitor for several years. Are any of my meds the cause of my itching? Thank you. John

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that any one of these can cause itching, it is possible to react to any medication or chemical.

This means that the itching can be due to any food/drink that you may be using as well.
Generalized itching can also be due to infection, liver disease, kidney disease, abnormal thyroid hormones.

Your doctor can assess to determine if any of these are present.
You may want also to consider allergy testing to determine if an allergy it the cause of the itching.

I hope this helps
