What Causes Itchy Lumps On The Scalp And Neck?

Hi there, I have itchy flea bite like lumps all over my scalp and neck. I mean they are really itchy. I went to the doctor and he prescribed antibiotics. I took the whole course, but nothing, no change, in fact it spread from just being on my scalp, down the back of my neck. I have been in the ocean with the thought that the salt water might assist, but no. I now have my head doused in tee-tree oil to see if this helps. What are your thoughts?

Hi,

Well, antibiotics are advised to you suspect it to be an infection, but in case if nothing improves, you should once consult a Dermatologist and get evaluated.

It can be due to some sort of allergy or Eczematous reaction leading to the itchy bumps.

An allergy test can be done for confirmation of the cause.

For now to reduce itching take anti-allergy medicines like Levocetirizine or Allegra.

Apply Calamine lotion and do cool compresses. Avoid using any harsh chemical cosmetics.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
