What Causes Itchy Nodules On Labia Majora?

I have noticed 2 small pea sized nodules on my right labia majoria. I was having pain and itchiness in that area too. It hurts when I wipe myself after I urinate, and also is uncomfortable. I noticed the 2 nodules when I examined myself closer. What can cause this and what could it be?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
Hello and welcome to HCM,
Painful nodules in labia can be due to enlargement and infection of the adnexal glands in the skin of labia majora.
A clinical assessment is required.
Bartholins gland infection and inflammation is a very cause of painful nodules in the genital region.
Bartholins glands are modified sweat glands which secrete lubricant.
Infection of Bartholins gland is common.
Treatment of Bartholinitis (or inflammation of Bartholins glands) is with antimicrobials and de-roofing of the swelling else the infection can recur.
Thus, I suggest you to consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment and thus treatment.

Thanks and take care
