Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Itchy Pink Soles In The Feet While On Antibiotics?
I am over 80 years old, so no I m not an athlete. do have spinal stenosis, which I did have surgery last year, that has been corrected. I take Lipitor, omrapazol, synthroid, and diovan. The soles of my feet get quite pink and itch and feel like they burn. What could be the cause.
The itch you are experiencing can be due to a fungal infection, especially because you are on antibiotics. I would advise you to use an antifungal cream such as miconazole (or clotrimazole) cream twice a day on your soles for 2 weeks. If this does not help you will need to see your doctor.
I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General and Family Physician
