What Causes Itchy Rash And Bruise At The Site Of Blood Draw?

Hi I had blood drawn 6 weeks ago at the hospital. When I left the hospital for the next two weeks I had a black and blue mark on my arm about 1.5 inches x 2 inches. A couple days after the blood was drawn a rash began. It covered the black and blue mark and has now moved outside the area of the black and bue mark. It is very itchy and is aggravated in the shower. Is it an infection ?

Hi,
It seems that you might be having Thrombophlebitis giving this problem.
Go for one antibiotic medicine course.
Apply ice pack daily for few days.
Apply Thrombophob cream locally.
Ok and take care.
