What Causes Itchy Rash On The Right Arm?

I have a right arm that sometime gets red and hot to touch, it ictchs so bad that I use ice cubes to stop the itching I was told my Derm dr I a had exzcema there isn t any rash an only on one arm he gave me some lotion to put on it,,I cant believe his diagnoses because it is only on arm and he gave me another tube to help the red disappear,, but it was $600 a tube and I can t afford that. what is your opinion

Hi,

As per your query you have symptoms of an itchy rash on the right arm which is very common as dirt and moisture get trapped by your clothing and the friction that comes from sitting can these symptoms. It could be due to blockage of sebaceous glands leading to folliculitis or boils.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you keep this area clean and dry and apply a cream containing azelaic acid. Apply warm compresses with a soaked towel and apply vitamin C serum at night. You should avoid touching or pricking rashes. If the condition doesn't get better then consult a dermatologist for proper examination. The doctor will examine physically along with blood test and sample for a lab test. The doctor may prescribe antibiotics like clindamycin along with anti-inflammatory or antifungal ointment.
