What Causes Itchy Rash With Blisters On The Arms And Other Parts?

I have a fairly severe rash that even has some blisters. it first appeared on my arms and I figured I had poison ivy from yard work the previous day. However, after treating it for poison ivy with over the counter treatments for a week I also started to develop a rash on my side that does not have blisters but has gone as far down as my groin area and a little on my stomach and chest. I would describe the discomfort as mainly itching but also with some burning sensations.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms can be related to shingle which is a viral infection. I suggest using antihistamines such as Cetirizine 10 mg daily. I also suggest using Acyclovir cream for local application.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
