What Causes Itchy Rashes All Over The Body?

My husband has been getting rashes on his body, has gone to doctor all they give him creams that have not worked. We have a cat but she stays in a different room. I think he needs a blood test to determine what he has. He is sure it s the cat. He breaks out in these rashes and they itch. He does not have a sneezing problem that comes with regular allergies. Please help us out. Thank you

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain sudden and recurring breakout of itchy rashes all over the body seems to be most probably be due to allergic reaction to some unknown allergen..
It is not necessary that in case if there is allergic reaction, sneezing will occur for sure..
The common allergens that can cause the symptoms of allergy are poison ivy, animal danders, pollen, certain foods and medicines, skin cosmetics and detergents, leather, latex etc..
I would suggest you to consult an Allergist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like Prick test, Patch test, RAST test, Food Challenge test et can help in ruling out the exact cause of allergic reaction and avoiding exposure to the allergen can help in preventing symptoms..
You can also be advised to take anti allergics like Allegra or Benadryl for relieving symptoms..
Application of steroid cream and cool compresses over the rashes can help..
You can also apply Calamine lotion..
An immunotherapy can also be instilled to reduce the severity of allergic reaction..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
