What Causes Itchy Rashes On Arms, Red Neck And Peeling Skin On Face?

Hi I have had this itchy rash thing for a week or so now. Inside of arms at the bend. Left arm had two areas of patchy bumps, right arm was clear but itchy. Then it got to be at least two inches above and below the bend on each arm and painful. Went to er, they have no idea what it is. Gave me prednisone, a topical and pain meds. Started clearing but coming back and now my kneck is red. Looks like a sunburn, also my face was peeling and now cheeks look red too. I take 10 my of lexi pro and birth control pills, and benadryl

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per you query you have symptoms of itchy rashes on arms, red neck and peeling skin on face which is pointing towards a condition known as sunburn or photoallergic dermatitis. In this condition the symptoms like peeling of skin and dry patches become prominent. Need not to worry. You have to take few preventive measures. I would suggest you to wash your face with cold water. Apply cold compresses to your face 2-3 times a day. Take antihistamine drug like benadryl . Apply broad spectrum sunscreen such as TANCARE to face all the times. Apply vitamin C serum at night. If condition doesn't improve in a week then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe steroid ointment and retinoids .
