What Causes Itchy Rashes On Buttocks?

I have a rash on my butt cheeks. The rash started as a straight line of small bumps. Now the rash is approx 4.5 inches in length and .5 inches wide. It is now swollen and itches like crazy. The itching just started yesterday. The rash line started close to the center of my butt and is extending outwards towards the side of my hips. I now have this on both cheeks. This rash has progressively gotten worse over the last 7 days. The only thing new to my routine is I started taking a dose of safflower oil with two of my meals each day.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The symptoms seem to be related to a fungal infection.

A photo would be very helpful through the diagnosis.

I suggest using antifungal cream for local application such as Miconazole cream.

I also suggest using Fluconazole tablet.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
