What Causes Itchy Rashes On The Arms, Chest And Neck While On Nexium?
I thought I was having an allergic reaction to some new medicine but it has been 48 hours since I took it and I m still having an itchy rash over my arms, hands, stomach and chest and neck and part of my face. I m not taking anything else new except for Nexium (equate brand) Benedryl is not stopping it. Any suggestions.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of itchy rashes on the arms, chest and neck while on Nexium which seems to be due to side effects of medicine. It could be due to allergic reaction.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to apply cold compresses to rashes to reduce redness and inflammation , take over the counter antihistamine like benadryl and avoid food like nuts and seafood. You should avoid touching or pricking rashes. If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe immunosuppressants along with corticosteroid ointment.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
