What Causes Itchy Rashes On The Body While On Amoxicillin?

Have been taking •Amoxicillin since last Friday for strep throat; last dose would have been for this AM. Yesterday, broke out in rash particularly on the arms and legs, itchy. Did not take med this AM. Have had diarrhea since taking the med. Since the med has been d/c, any recommendations for improving the rash/itch ? or just time ?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I can understand your concern. As per your history, cause of rashes and diarrhea may be tab. Amoxicillin. Kindly consult your physician, he may prescribe other antibiotic. You may require tab. Cetrizine and Lactocalamine lotion after consultation.

Take care.
