What Causes Itchy Rashes On The Body?

I have a ninety-one year old father-in- law that has broke out in a itchy rash which his doctor thought was shingles. He has been on three different medications for shingles with none of them helping. Now they think it is a allergic reaction to something. He has been on Lasix for a couple of months for chf. could this rash be from the Lasix just now, even though he has been on it for several months?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Lasix is having frusemide. It is diuretic drug.
It has no skin related side effects.
So his rashes are unlikely due to Lasix.
Possibility of viral infection and skin rashes is more likely.
So give him levocetrizine or fexofenadine twice daily.
Apply steroid cream (mometasone) on rashes.
Don't worry, he will be alright.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your father in law. Thanks.
