What Causes Itchy Rashes On The Face And Neck After Taking Effient?
I am taking a blood thinner Effient this the second prescription, Plavix was the first one I m having a bad reaction to these, I m to see my DR. on the 10/19 he is on vacation now I called the nurse about the reaction to the first drug and this one isn t any better. it starts off with itching here and there then hives appear and go away every day its like that , yesterday my face neck and chest broke out in a rash, so I stopped taking the effient I know I need to take something until I can see my Dr. or call the nurse again on Monday I m taken the blood thinner because I had 4 stent put in on August 28, I do take aspirin every night 81mg since it is Saturday night should I take more aspirin until I can call the nurse again on Monday need advice please thank you. If you're allergic to Prasugrel. You can use alternate anti-platelet drugs like Clopidogrel. But incidence of skin rash is high with Prasugrel (2.8%) than Clopidogrel(2.3%).
You can use Aspirin until you meet your doctor (be careful. If you observe asthmatic attacks or increasing rashes, you need to stop the drug immediately and consult your doctor).
