What Causes Itchy Rashes On The Head While On Belbuca?
I have been using belcuca for about 3 months. I have a very itchy rash in my head. I stopped using Butrans because after about one year because of an itchy rash as well. I though the rash in my head was mosquito bites, but now I realize it is probably the belbuca
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
It is very common for drugs to cause allergic reaction with rash on the skin and it is may be that the skin rash you have might be related to it. On the other hand Belbuca is a drug that belongs to opioids which are drugs that might cause some dependence and stopping it abruptly might make worse the symptoms you use it for. It is good that you check with your doctor to make sure that the rash in not due to other causes. Mosquito bites do not generally happen in the head (scalp) but on the face and other exposed areas.
To conclude I would say that please talk to your doctor to confirm that the rash is due to the drug and discuss with him the options for treating the condition you were taking Belbuca for.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Kind regards, Antoneta Zotaj, MD
