What Causes Itchy Rashes On The Leg?

I have experienced bites on my leg that appear in a crescent shape. I don t feel it when it happens nor do I see anything. It has happened twice on the same leg. And on the other leg a few bites just clustered together but not in a crescent shape. And they seem to happen at the same time. They itch like crazy! The bites are hard to the touch and are raised. If you pop them there is a clear liquid that comes out. And through experimentation I have learned not to do that because it just makes the itching worse. I have never experienced anything like this. Normally I don t use insect repellant because normally all I get is a mosquito bite that goes away quickly.

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of itchy rashes on the leg which occurs due to hair follicle infection and when pores of sebaceous gland filled with sebum, dead skin and bacteria get infected and leading to folliculitis.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to start with application of aloe vera gel and apply azelaic acid containing cream twice a day as this is safe and natural extract of cereals. You should apply topical antibacterial cream. Apply aloe vera gel to keep moist. I would suggest you to consult dermatologist once and get it examined. You should go for antibiotics(Clindamycin), corticosteroid ointment, and hydroquinone. Do not scratch pimples as they will get infected. Avoid exposure to sunlight and keep areas clean and dry.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
