What Causes Itchy, Red And Raised Sores On The Side Of Torso?

I have developed a series of red sores on the side of my torso that go up into my armpits. They ve been there now for approx 2 weeks. They are only slightly itchy and slightly raised and are dry (no oozing). I did have a cold a few weeks back. Could this be viral?

I really appreciate your concern, it could be due to viral infection and most probably herpes is likely, it really need to be ruled out once the diagnosis is confirmed then it need to be managed accordingly, till then "Diphenhydramine lotion" can be used, hope this information helps, take care and have a nice day.
