What Causes Itchy Red Bruise In The Inner Thigh And Palm?

Today out of nowhere, my inner thigh became extremely itchy. I scratched it (from outside my pant leg), and it wouldn t stop itching for about 5 minutes, I continued to scratch several times, not even rough scratching... and then it stopped for the rest of the day, I just noticed a bruise in the exact area that is the size of my palm. brown, red and purple colored. I have never bruised from bites, or scratching before...also there is no bite marks or bumps, or pain when I touch it. so far ive googled this and haven t found much info. any ideas?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi.
As per your case history you are having fungal infection called as tinea cruris and tinea mannum.
My treatment advice is -
1. Maintain good hygiene and bath twice daily.
2. Apply an antifungal cream like clotrimazole cream twice daily on it.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetrizine twice daily for itching.
4. Other treatment options are oral fluconazole, itraconazole and terbinafine taken only after consulting a dermatologist.

Thanks.
Dr. Harshit bhachech.
MBBS, DDVL.
