What Causes Itchy Red Bumps On Pubic Area After Having Sex?

Hello Recently I shaved my pubes for the first time. Right after I shaved I had close physical contact with my girlfriend and I know she does not have herpes. I don t know what it is. I have white crusty red bumps that itch on my public area. It isn t directly on my penis or sac, but right above them.

Thank you for writing to HCM

Based on the description that you have given, it seems that shaving has caused you to get irritation over the area. This happens because shaving causes ingrown hairs. These ingrown hairs send to irritate and inflame the skin when they grow out. This will lead to the pain and swelling that you are talking about.

You can try the following to see if it helps you:
Take 1 tablet cetirizine 10 at night to help reduce the pain and itching
Apply a moisturising cream over the area and let it air well (wear cotton clothes)
Use Ice cubes to numb the area and reduce the swelling

Follow up after 3 days and if this does not help you may need to get checked for STDs. All the best.

Hope this helps you.
