What Causes Itchy Red Bumps On The Body After Dog Scratch?
hello , when ever my dog plays with me, when he scratches me i get this tiny red bumps appearing on the scratch marks. its gets itchy after awhile but goes away within 1 or 2 hours later. the bumps slowly will look like a mosquito bite. it gets really itchy. the bumps will appear either side by side and appears about 2-3 bumps per scratches . am i allergic to dogs? or just a skin sensitivity?
Because the lesions come up with contact with the dog and they are itchy and disappear soon, very likely you do have some sensitivity to the dog. Sensitivity and allergy are quite similar terms.
At the moment, it seems you have a mild reaction but if you develop lesions that persist or you develop shortness of breath or swelling on the face, then more advanced allergy can be considered and quick medical help is advised.
I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
