Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello. I m not sure what to do anymore about these itchy red bumps or the two oval shape patches (one on each side) on my breast. I went to the emergency room on Tuesday and I was told that I had a bacterial infection. I was given a prescription for Bactrim DS and Keflex to take for 7days. I stop taking it yesterday because the itching got worse and more bumps appeared around my arm pits and insidey inner elbows. So I went to dollar tree and bought some anifungal cream. It stopped the itchy for about 30 mins but then the itchy sensation came back. Earlier this morning I went to a different emergency room because I thought I could have a ringworm or scabies since the rash was now on each side of my hips near my perennial area and my lower rear end. The doctor doctor quickly dismissed all claims and said that I could have a fungal infection and wrote me a prescription for benadryl tablet 25mg. I reqd on hear that syphillis and ringworms look alike but I know that is out of the question because I haven t been active and I have no open sores or any marks on my sole or palms. Can someone please help me. Please what should I do? This itching can be quite annoying and I work two jobs now and I m trying not to miss another day of work
As first-line management, you can apply low potency steroid creams like betamethasone for symptomatic relief. If the lesion persists, it is better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated. You can take drugs like cetirizine or hydroxyzine for itching.
