What Causes Itchy Red Bumps On The Buttocks?

Hi, just recently I started to get these red bumps on my butt and at first weren't very itchy but now they are. At first I thought they were insect bites like a mosquito bite but looking through online it's making me start thinking of all kinds of things. Would you have any ideas of what it could be

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of itchy red bumps on the buttocks which occurs due to friction due to rubbing of clothes, clogged pores of skin with dead bacteria, allergic reaction and due to poor hygiene of that area.

Need not to worry. You should wash area with neutrogena oil free. Exfoliate your skin once a week and apply azelaic acid containing cream twice a day. Take antibiotic like azithromycin 500 mg. If condition doesn't improve in a month then consult dermatologist for proper evaluation. Doctor may prescribe hydroquinone cream , retinoids.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
