What Causes Itchy Red Rashes On The Arms And Legs?
I ve been getting large red welts that itch really badly. As they heal, they turn a really dark purple and look like a bruise for about 2 weeks before disappearing. I have several pictures. I do not have bed bugs or fleas. They appear every few weeks or even some months between them. They typically occur in 3s. I ve had them on my shoulder blades, arm, lower leg, and feet. Then they show up on my feet it is only one spot.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Sounds like an urticarial rash where due to certain stimulus like foods or even just scratching could give you a raised inflamed rash. Constant itching could give you superficial epidermal bleeding which later resolves into a bruise. I suggest you start on an anti-allergic medication twice a day till the symptoms cease. Along with that you could also apply a steroidal cream on the affected area at least twice a day. It would be best if you could get these lesions reviewed by the concerned doctor for the dosage of the medications.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Smruti Pevekar
