Hello and welcome to HCM
From your description, and previous history, it most probably is an
allergic reaction. We need to narrow down on a possible cause, that could have triggered it as this needs to be avoided.
try to recall any history of allergies to new jewelry, watches, cosmetics or perfumes on the wrist. Other things like contact with pets, plants, outdoor activities. it may also be a reaction to an insect bite. Any seafood, other items you are allergic to?
Since you do have a history of hives, you are prone to other allergies. Rashes can also start in one place and spread later.
Also rule out any history of fever, recent medication, etc.
To soothe the itching, apply a
calamine lotion 2-3 times a day. A steroid cream like
mometasone can be used for a few days in case of active, reddish or very itchy rashes, and if they tend to spread.
Take an antihistamine like
benadryl for a week till they subside.
If you see no improvement, or if it gets worse do
consult a dermatologist to confirm the diagnosis and to rule out other causes. If required they may also advise blood tests, and skin
allergy tests as needed.
In any case , do follow up with the doctor regarding continuing treatment.
Avoid any trigger factors, don't scratch the area.
Hope this helps.
