What Causes Itchy Scalp While On Antibiotics For Infected Lump On Head?

My 7 years old son hit the top of his head, had a lump that got infected and now I am giving him antibiotics ( amoxicillin + clindamicin) . After this injury though I have noticed that his scalp is extremely itchy to the point the his night rest is being disturbed. Did not receive an explanation from his pediatrician . What could cause this? Thank you for your time.

After going through your medical query I understand your concern and I would like to tell you that clindamycin can cause itchy scalp, it’s recommended to put coconut oil on affected area.
