Hi,I am Raju.A.T (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
HI, from the year 2013 till now, I ve developed an allergy that I m trying to understand the source of the itching. Every time I leave home when the sun is shining, my hands immediately start to itch. Before when I kept moisturizing my hands before I go out in the sun, it would help but now It doesn t work. I ve gone by a few doctors and they told me, I have to pay attention to what is causing this allergy. However, for years I m doing that but all I know is that the sun brings out the irritation in my hands. Also, I have dry skin....
It may be photo allergic dermatitis. There may be some allergen which causes skin lesions in sun exposed areas after exposure to sun rays. Consult the dermatologist for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment. I would advise to keep yourself away from sun or protect from the sun rays. And avoid contact with suspected allergen. Take antihistaminics like fexofenadine 180 mg daily for the long time. Take a course of oral steroid in tapering dose. Apply tacrolimus 0.03% oint on the affected areas.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
