What Causes Itchy Skin Rash With Swelling In Eye Lids And Lips?

My husband has a shellfish allergy He was changed from the brand name Advert to apo-dutasteride in January. He is breaking out with hives, itching and has his eyelids and lips swelling. Could there be a form of shellfish or tartrazine in this drug? YYYY@YYYY

I can understand your husband's problem.

He has developed allergic reaction to Apo-dutasteride resulting in appearance of hives, itching, swollen eyelids and the lips.

He needs to be treated for this allergic reaction with Antihistamines tablet like Levocetrizine and Hydrocortisone skin ointment and use of an alternate and safe drug in place of apo-dutasteride.
