I have a lot of freckles and have always had sensitive skin. I have recently (in the last 2 months or so) developed an itch that seems to be focused in the area of 3 freckle sized marks on my left arm that kind Of look like tiny burn marks or scars. I am 35 years old and have had extremely itchy spots on my other arm that lasted around a year but no longer bothers me at all. Should I see a dermatologist?
Hi. As per your case history you may be having polymorphic light eruption as it is more common in people with sensitive skin (having freckles). My treatment advice is - 1. Avoid sun exposure. Use a good sunscreen lotion. 2. Apply a mild steroid cream like flutivate cream twice daily. 3. You can take antihistamine tablet like levocetrizine for itching.
