What Causes Jabbing Pain From Upper GI To Lower Rib?

A sharp jab originating from my left upper GI just below my rib and diaphragm woke me up from my sleep. It's not a steady pain, just every 15 minutes or so. I took 3 anti-acid because I thought I'm having gas issue and it seemed to help. I had spaghetti squash for lunch and dinner. Do you think what I had for my meals could have been the cause of the jabbing pain I was experiencing? Please advise.Thank you,Corazon Viola
