What Causes Joint Pain Along With Recurrent Stomach Infection?
My niece was in Punta Cana approx. 1 year ago. She had a bug bite that gave her a fever and elevated wbc for about 6 weeks. Since then she has been experiencing significant joint pain in bilat hands, wrists, knees and ankles, she gets occ round circles of pain (but no skin discoloration) on her legs off and on. She has also been catching everything- sinus infections, stomach bugs etc. Her symptoms are worsening. She is dropping things because she cannot make a tight fist and maintain it. She is 34 years old and thin,

Hi,
She should be checked for Lyme disease. The treatment consists of Doxycycline for 14 days. Do Lyme disease tests immediately.
