My niece was in Punta Cana approx. 1 year ago. She had a bug bite that gave her a fever and elevated wbc for about 6 weeks. Since then she has been experiencing significant joint pain in bilat hands, wrists, knees and ankles, she gets occ round circles of pain (but no skin discoloration) on her legs off and on.
