What Causes Joint Pain In Elbows And Knees?

Our son has been experiencing joint pain in his elbows and especially his knees accompanied by headaches and occasional dizziness. He is seventeen and in good physical condition. What could this be? Lyme Disease and Mononucleosis have been suggested.
