What Causes Joint Pain While Having Restless Leg Syndrome?

I have joint pain, am always tired, feel hot to the touch all the time (all body parts; and I m through menopause) and sometime experience a buzzing sensation through my limbs or even through my whole body. This a.m. I work up with the sensation through my whole body. I do have psoriasis and suffer with restless leg syndrome. I am in fairly good health but do know I need to drop some wt. It is this sensation that I have a lot of the time - hot, aching in my joints - especially my hands and feet. Sometimes it interferes with my sleep. I only take a couple of medications - Synthroid and Paxil.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

In people with mild to moderate restless legs syndrome, lifestyle changes, such as beginning a regular exercise program, establishing regular sleep patterns, and eliminating or decreasing the use of caffeine, alcohol, and tobacco, may be helpful.

Also, some home remedies that may help include: Leg massages, Hot baths or heating pads or ice packs applied to the legs, Good sleep habits.

Medications may be helpful but are used only in severe cases and maybe, Neupro, and Requip or benzodiazepines. Anticonvulsants, or antiseizure drugs, such as Tegretol, Lyrica or Neurontin.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
