What Causes Joint Stiffness And Pain In Shoulders And Hips?

I have joint stiffness constantly and occasionally my hands get really weak and i cant do anything. but i dont experience much pain or swelling as far as I can tell. I also have points on my body that are very painful to the touch (shoulders and hips). I have been like this for as long as I can remember. These are the only things that can explain it. Do I have fibromyalgia or maybe arthritis?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the pain, stiffness involving shoulder and hips are more in concern with polymyalgia rheumatica rather than fibromyalgia.

However, a visit to rheumatologist is must for this regard to be evaluated thoroughly on clinical grounds with supportive data evaluation of the laboratory.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
