What Causes Joints And Muscles Pain Throughout Body?

Hello, I m a 43yo female and for the last few weeks I have been experiencing joint pain in my hands, wrists, shoulders, elbows, well better much all joints. Now my muscle ache off and on. I feel very tired even though I sleep 7 hr a night. I also have experienced chilling at various times throughout the day, that started 3 days ago. Could this be a response to allergens in the air? I m pretty tired of feeling tired. 800mg of Ibuprofen does help with the symptoms. Thank you in advanced.

Hello,

You have been experiencing pain in the hands, wrists and all the joints. Presently, you have muscle pain and chills. Muscle pain and chills commonly occur due to common cold, viral infection or sometimes due to stress and exhaustion. To get rid of body ache and fatigue, take rest. Take soups, juice, warm beverage and adequate water. It will help to replenish your body electrolyte system and hence, help you feel better.

Take rest and home made balanced diet. Stay away from addictions if any. Include anti inflammatory food in your regular diet. You can take muscle relaxants, one stat for relief. Joint pain are indicative of developing OA, RA, Gout, etc. You are suggested to take CRP, anti-CCP, ESR and also X-ray and MRI to detect the severity of the joint ache. In the meantime, if obese do regular walking, maintain healthy weight.

Get connected to a Physical therapist so that you can do the required stretch and joint exercises under him. Take food good for the joints like olive oil, whole grain, beans, lentils, seeds and nuts, fruits and veggies. High doses of ibuprofen taken for a long period may cause hypersensitivity to the stomach and hence, risk of ulcer. Chronic use may also accelerate osteoarthritis joint breakdown. It may prevent the body's natural response to healing.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
