What Causes Knee Pain While Running?

Hello I been running for a whule now. The other day I found out that I couldn't run as much because I had this terrible knee pain. I been researching in the internet and it seems like I have chromomalacia symptoms. The symptoms always appear wheni try to run. I don't know what to do. How do I know if I have chromomalacia?
