What Causes Knot On The Lower Left Side Of Back?

I am 47 yr old male and I work out often almost 6 day a week, about a year ago I discovered this small knot on the lower left side of my back. It goes away n comes back, it can b painful sometimes. I was wondering could this come from stress or working out to much, or should I go see a doctor?

Hi,

I feel the knot you are thinking is from swelling from sachroileac joint (between two bones of pelvis on left side). It is the beginning of arthritis, swells up when excess work outs are done. Rest when it is swollen and painful/mild to moderate physiotherapy under expert care/investigations to know type of swelling and suitable pain medicines with expert advise can arrest it to lead a comfortable life. Till the time you meet expert, over the counter pain pill like Ibuprofen can be taken in suitable dosage after food.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
