Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, I am trying to decide what to do right this second. My husband just called and said he has lost the ability to focus his eyes. He pulled off the road and is waiting it out . My immediate concern is a stroke. He says he is not having a headache or any neck pain/stiffness.
In the circumstances you have mentioned your first priority should be to ask him not to drive any further and see help of traffic control officer to call for a medical help as well as securing the car.
He should be immediately evaluated in a medical facility with blood screens for any fluctuations in sugar or blood pressure levels or any other toxins or electrolytes imbalance. Also get his visual acuity checked promptly. Get a fundus examination and eye movers examinations. In later stages visual evoked protiential or MRI may be needed and work up for stroke or retinal artery occlusion or MS should be done later on after seeking medical facility.
Hoping him a speedy recovery. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Regards.
