What Causes Lack Of Appetite After Giving Stemetil And Contromet Syrup For Fever?

My 2y6month old daughter has been vomitting since the early hours yesterday morning. She had no fever initially and at night she had terrible fever . I m nowhere near a doctor right now but I gave her adco contromet syrup(2.5ml) and a Stemetil suppository late at night. She has only vomited once since then but is not eating. Please advise as to whether I can continue with the suppository and what foods can i give her to make her feel better. TIA.

Hello,

You are giving your daughter two medications for nausea and vomiting, you will have to choose only one of them and make sure you follow the instructions in the leaflet when it comes to the dose.

As for food, she may have B (banana) R (rice) A (apple) T (toast) diet giving her such food in frequent small amounts or other food that she is wanting to have but in frequent small amounts.
On the other hand, it is more important at this time for her to get fluids if she does not want to eat. She should get oral rehydration solutions that substitute both water and salt loss (you can access them over the counter in pharmacy).
If she is no better or she is sleepy, not very active if she is peeing as usual or any worsening she will need to be seen by a doctor as soon as possible.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
