Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Lack Of Appetite Post Vascular Surgery In A COPD Patient?
I have a 59 year old female friend that has some major health problems. She just had a bypass in her legs. She has lost major amounts of weight. Example Friday the 12th her weight was 122 and her weight today as 112. She has severe COPD and is on oxygen. She has no appetite and I have known her to go without eating for 2 or 3 days at a time. I know that she is depressed. Her vascular doctor said that blood work can be done to pinpoint her eating problem. She has been told that she now has a small blockage in her right leg where a stent has already been placed. Any questions or ideas that I can discuss with her Primary Care tomorrow? I m sorry can t afford to pay a charge at this time
The number of medications after surgeries can cause excessive gastritis and cause appetite disturbances. You can give her antacids and appetizer boosters.
