Hi Dr Santosh,My child is 5.5 yrs old. He takes very less food in a day. He goes to school with 1 glass of milke then eat very-2 less breakfast if it is of his choice . Then on Lunch, 1 roti, sabzi then in Dinner 1 roti,daal.Please advice how to increase his diet. his weight is 18.5 kg.

Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to may reasons like slow growth of the child , sickness , stress , depression , annorexia nervosa , medications like antibiotics , anemia , Intestinal worms and irregular bowel movements. I would sugges you to consult pediatrician for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order blood test , stool test and physical examination . Doctor may prescribe drug like albendazole , iron tablets , laxatives and do counseling . For now drink plenty of water and avoid fatty and spicy food .
