Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, lately I ve been feeling seriously depressed. I feel physically weak, and also I have a lack of energy. I ve experienced a heartbreak over an almost-relationship six months ago and since then I ve been feeling very broken. I fail to concentrate on a daily basis. I have difficulties to study. Also, I gained weight, and I have an increase of appetite. Important to mention is that most of the time I want to be alone and I push people away from me. Also, I think that nobody loves me and that I will never find somebody to love. What should I do? Please help.
Depression is a serious illness that can affect every aspect of life. It affects not just mental health but can affect physical health as well.
It would be best to see someone of an assessment. This can be your GP , psychiatrist or psychologist.
Treatment would involve counselling and possibly medication such as antidepressants. If medication is needed, you may not need to be on it for the long term.
Counselling will help you to overcome any beliefs that are linked to your depression such as no one ever loving you.
I hope this helps
