What Causes Lack Of Fetal Pole During 7 Weeks Of Pregnancy?

Hi, I completed 7 weeks of pregnancy today (25th Aug 2015). I had my first USG last saturday (6 weeks and 4 days from my LMP (3rd July). Regarding teh Fetal pole, yolk sac, all reports are normal except for the cardiac activity. Transvaginal ultrasoung was done. cardiac activity is not seen yet. Another ultrasound is recommended on this saturday (29th Aug 2015) and that will be 7 weeks and 4 days. I am bit worried and tensed due to the absence of the cardiac activity of the baby. Till what time we can wait to see the hearbeat activity comes up or not? Kindly help.

Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
If fetal pole and yolk sac has been detected in ultrasound scan, then pregnancy is confirmed.
Appearance of cardiac activity has to be detected by ultrasound scan to say weather it is viable or not.
It can be picked up as by ultrasound scan as early as 6 to 8 weeks of gestation. Sometimes, it may be picked up a little late by a week to ten days.
Hence don't be worried or tensed. Relax and keep yourself free from stress, which is very essential.
Eat healthy diet and keep yourself well hydrated by consuming good quantity of fluids. Next scan should probably pick up cardiac activity.
